How to run migration-center client on Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012

Starting with version 3.2.5 migration-center client is supported on Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012. In order for all its features to work properly with these Windows versions apply the following settings:

1) Start regedit.exe

2) Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers

3) Add new string. Name should be the full path of migration-center client. Ex: C:\fme AG\migration-center Client 3.2.5\migClient.exe . The value of the key should be set with: ~^ WINXPSP3 DISABLETHEMES DISABLEDWM

Note: Officially, Oracle Client 11gR2 32 bit is not supported on Windows 2012. By ignoring the warning at installation it can be successfully installed and used properly on Windows 2012.

If the above settings are not applied, the Object types window will not work properly: it won't be possible to import a type definition from a csv file and it won't be possible to choose the data type of an attribute.
